ANÆ bench Grift had a “secret mission” : to welcome Queen Beatrix and her family on the annual Queen's Day on April 30th. They were placed on the main city square, the Raadhuisplein, just before the date. If getting tired with the busy festival day, she just could sit down on the bamboo benches with comfort and safety.

The Raadhuisplein is designed by the architect office Soeters Van Eldonk from Amsterdam. They also made the design for bench Grift. It was carried out and implemented with ANÆ Bamboo Hardwood®, more strong and more environment friendly.

Not only the Royal family, but also the citizens of Veenendaal could enjoy the bamboo benches, and the efforts behind it by architects of Soeters Van Eldonk and ANÆ colleagues.

City Boom chooses the multi-sided ANÆ tree grate Linder

2012-04-16, City Boom chooses the multi-sided ANÆ tree grate Linder

The Belgian municipality Boom,  close to Antwerp, worked together with architect office atelier Quadrat on a  face lift-up plan for its downtown area. They made the choice of tree grates of  ANÆ Linder. The neutral and multi-sided character of Linder fits not only the classic atmosphere of the city, but also the modern design of Quadrat.

ANÆ The Fifth Avenue of Rotterdam

2012-04-16, ANÆ The Fifth Avenue of Rotterdam

In 1949 it was started to build up the Lijnbaan, a long, open alley just for walkers in the centre of Rotterdam. A car-free pedestrian zone at that time was a novelty and draw a lot of international attention at the opening in October 1953. The Lijnbaan was the first shopping promenade in the Netherlands and is still a famous shopping attraction. The draft was designed by van den Broek en Bakema.

More than 50 years later the city electricity has to be changed. At the same time the flair of the Lijnbaan shall be more modern and up to date. Following up the idea "From chair to city" from Jaap Bakema, the mental father of the Lijnbaan, now atelier Quadrat is responsible for coherent design on all levels of styling.

The short striped pattern on the natural stone pavement of dark basalt with light grey stripes are also to be found in the seating furniture and even in the tree grates. The latter are custom-made by ANÆ. Clear-cut and straight-lined - perfectly fitting with the whole design loaded with history of the " Ffth Avenue" in Rotterdam

Mechelen is an old town rich of history. But the centre of the city was not any longer in the prime of its life. Therefore, OKRA landscape architects from Utrecht were asked to draw a renovation plan.

One of the squares which is now ready is the Corn Markt, the oldest place of the town, full of cafés, restaurants and stores. A number of trees are spread over the whole square. OKRA chose for ANÆ tree grates, model Dendre, deviating from the standard size,180 x 150 cm and also different from the standard colour.
